With broad experience in all aspects of commercial real estate law, Tessa represents developers of multi-family residential, office and retail developments. Her work includes working with developers and their lenders through all phases of a project—from forming an organizational structure, to property acquisition, to financing and leasing.  An accountant prior to becoming an attorney, Tessa has experience with all types of financing transactions including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD financing.  Tessa is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina and serves as an approved title and escrow attorney for several title companies for North Carolina deals and has her own title agency to issue title insurance for South Carolina deals. Tessa also works with local attorneys all over the country to facilitate deals in other states.

While commercial real estate is the foundation of Tessa’s practice, she also uses her keen understanding of overall business law to help her clients with all manner of transactions, agreements and dispute resolution.  And in recent years, she has expanded her practice to assist clients with matters related to estate planning and administration.

Originally from Florida, Tessa has been a North Carolinian since moving to Cashiers as a teenager. See Full Bio >>
